This is Gillby’s synthesis of its latest published coastal forecasts and nowcasts, using available model, observation and official-source inputs. The eight locations are an editorial sample, not a statewide average. No missing value is replaced with zero.
Wind and water-temperature ranges are the lowest and highest available estimates in this sample. The chop card shows the most common generic published label, not a boat-specific comfort verdict. Water-temperature estimates are not guaranteed measurements at a beach, depth or launch.
Source availability varies by place. The app provides the detailed source status, station information, advisories and time coverage behind each location. Generic sources include Open-Meteo marine models and NOAA / NWS marine information. Review those details before using an estimate in a plan.
Start with what you want to do. These quick guides point you toward the information that matters.
Check the marine forecast for each part of the route, wind and gusts, waves, tide predictions and official advisories. Include the return window. Inlet currents, bridge clearances and depth need their own sources and local checks.
NWS marine forecastsCompare wave height, period and direction with wind direction and gusts for the actual beach and session hours. Check local access rules and beach guidance. A buoy offshore provides context, not a reading at the break.
NOAA buoy observationsChoose offshore, inshore, shore or freshwater first. Review weather, access and the current regulations for your species and location. Water conditions alone do not establish fish presence or predict a catch.
FWC fishing informationCheck wind, weather, launch access and the conditions for your return. Look for relevant tide or river-flow information. Sheltered water and open water need different checks; an ocean wave forecast does not describe every bay or inland launch.
FWC launch and access resourcesCheck marine weather, entry and exit access, relevant current information and local operator guidance. Water visibility is unknown unless a source reports it; a calm forecast or clear camera view is not a visibility measurement at depth.
Florida Keys National Marine SanctuaryCheck local beach flags, official advisories, weather and available water-quality reports. Read the sample date on a water-quality result. A missing report is not confirmation that conditions are suitable for swimming.

Read the original timestamp and check what the source represents. Missing information stays unknown.
Match the forecast zone, issue time and valid hours to your actual destination.
NWS marine forecastsCheck the station location and observation time. An offshore buoy does not measure every beach.
NOAA NDBCDistinguish measured water levels from tide predictions. Confirm the station, time zone and datum.
NOAA CO-OPSRead the sample date and local advisory. A sample is not a continuous water-quality reading.

A day’s record can show local changes. A long-term trend needs a consistent station, variable, units and time window, with gaps and instrument changes accounted for.
The water-level chart above is a short record from one station. It does not establish a statewide average or a long-term trend. Keep tide predictions separate from measured water levels and check each archive’s methods.

Gillby compares available wind, generic chop and water-temperature estimates across a selected coastal sample, with coverage and times shown. The synthesis provides context; it is not a statewide average or a boat-specific planning verdict.
The resources cover Florida’s Atlantic coast, Keys, Gulf coast, Panhandle and inland waters. The insight panel and directories use small editorial selections rather than every location.
The insight panel uses published forecast and nowcast estimates cached for up to an hour. The Lake Worth water-level chart uses stored NOAA observations. Each view labels its times and coverage.
Opening status is not monitored on this page. Check the linked FWC record and site operator for current access, hours, fees, parking and vessel restrictions. Hand-launch sites are labeled.
The JSON and CSV files contain only the small location index shown on this page: names, regions, water types and official source links. No forecast time series, activity scores or route data are included.
