GILLBY FIELD NOTES / 02
Standalone learning tool · built with the Gillby API
One coast, different conditions
How different can two places be at the same hour? Compare wind, wave and water-temperature forecasts at two Florida places. Change the variable and inspect matching hours.
Free to explore. No account needed. A public demonstration separate from Gillby’s signed-in planning app.
Make a discovery.
Next 24 forecast hours. Equal timestamps and units; source coverage can differ by place.

Location coordinates & source
Boca Inlet · 26.33940, -80.07220
Pompano Beach Pier · 26.23520, -80.08760
Source: Gillby public spot directory, fixed reference points (WGS84).
Choose your inputs, then run a public API request. No sample values are preloaded.
What did you notice?
- Which hours have the largest difference? Switch variables and run again.
- Do the two places use the same upstream sources? Look at source times and gaps.
- What can this short forecast comparison tell you—and what cannot it establish?
How this was built
This standalone demonstration calls Gillby’s public HTTP API directly from your browser, then compares the returned values here. It uses the same public endpoints available to other builders. It does not call MCP behind the scenes.
See API requests, source metadata & raw responses
Run the experiment to see the exact requests, time window and unmodified responses.
Repeat it with MCP
Connect a compatible assistant to https://www.gillby.com/mcp, then use this prompt. The assistant should verify tool inputs and retain source limitations.
Use Gillby list_spots to verify boca-inlet and pompano-pier, then get_forecast for each with hours=24. Compare windKt at matching timestamps only. Report units, source freshness, advisories and missing hours. These are forecasts, not station measurements. Do not rank safety.
